Dates: 24th June, 29th June, 1st July 2021, 11.15 AM (2nd Semester Honours)

5th July & 9th July 2021, 11.15 AM (4th Semester   Honours)

12th July & 16th July, 2021, 11.15 AM (6th Semester Honours)

 

Online Peer Teaching Programmes were organized for 7 long days on different days from 24th June, 2021 to 16th July 2021 at 11.15 AM for 2nd, 4th and 6th Semester Honours students by Department of History, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Kolkata. This is a unique endeavour pursued by Department of History to improve teaching-learning in online classroom. In this strategy students have performed the role of teachers. Hence, they had to prepare one particular topic of their interest in detail to deliver an original lecture on the topic for 15 minutes with ppt presentations and the peer group or his or her classmate listened to the lecture carefully and asked question in the question-answer session of 5 minutes extra was kept at the end of the programme. All the programmes were conducted by the Head of the Department of History, Dr. Samiparna Rakshit and at the end the speeches of all the student speakers were summed up by Dr. Rakshit.

In the first segment, 3Day Online Peer Teaching Programme was held exclusively for 2nd Semester Honours students on the days mentioned above. On the 1st Day, 24th June 2021 at 11.15 am. following students presented their lecture. Total 18 including 16 students and 2 teachers were present in the programme.

1. Abhishek Mondale: Position of Women in Medieval Europe.

2. Ankita Kumari Thakur: Political Achievement and the Administration of the Mouryas.

3. Sumit Naskar: Crusade

On the 2nd Day, 29th June 2021 at 10.15 am.
Following students will present their lecture. Total 15 including 13 students and 2 teachers were present.
1. Ujjwal Mondal: Concept of Marriage in Indian Society.


2. Manisha Naskar: Economic Structure During Gupta Empire and its Contribution Towards the Decline of the Empire.


3. Thirthankar Ghosal: position of Women During 300 BCE to 750 AD.

In the Second segment, 2 Day Online Peer Teaching Programme were organized by the Department of History exclusively for the 4th Semester Hons. students. On the first day 3 students spoke on their favourite topics for 15 mins. An extra 5 mins was kept for Question Answer Session.

On the 1st Day, 5thJuly 2021 at 11.15 am.
following students presented their lecture and total 22 students including 21 students and 1 teacher were present in the programme.
