Online Career Mentorship Programme

An Online Career Mentorship Programme was organized for the Honours students of 2nd, 4th and 6th Semester by the Department of History, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Kolkata, West Bengal on 4th September 2021 at 4 pm. This programme was virtually inaugurated by Dr. Rajyasri Neogy, Principal, VJRC. She delivered a motivating speech for the students regarding career development. The programme was conducted by the convenor of the programme Dr. Samiparna Rakshit, Head of the Department. One of the teachers of the department Bishnupriya Bhattacharya acted as mentor, though all the teachers of the department participated in the discussion based on career mentorship. Total 46 students and 5 teachers of Department of History actively participated in this programme. The discussion and interaction with the students on various issues regarding Higher Studies and career selection continued for near about 2 hrs. The programme was ended by the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Samiparna Rakshit.

Offline Career Mentorship Programme

23rd December 2021, 1.30 PM (5th Semester Honours)
Two Offline Mentorship Programmes were organized for 3rd and 5th Semester Honours students on 21st December 2021 and 23rd December 2021 at 1.30 PM respectively by Department of History, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Kolkata. The Mentorship Programme on 21st December 2021 was inaugurated by Dr. Rajyasri Neogy, Principal, VJRC by delivering an interesting and fruitful speech. On 21st December, 17 3rd Semester students participated actively in the programme and Bishnupriya Bhattachrya who is also a teacher of this Department acted as mentor. The students of 3rd Semester Honours filled up a Mentorship form provided by the college in addition to actively participating in the long fruitful discussion of the programme with the mentor.
On 23rd December, 2021, 21 5th Semester Honours students participated actively in the programme. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Samiparna Rakshit, Head of the Department of History by delivering a motivational speech. Angira Sen who is also a teacher of this Department acted as mentor. Students filled up a Mentorship form provided by the college and also participated inquisitively in the programme. Both the programmes lasted for about 1hr. 30 minutes and both the programmes were ended with vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Samiparna Rakshit, HOD, Department of History, VJRC.
