About the Programme:

A 'Financial Awareness and Consumer Training Programme' was organised for the students of B. Com. Department, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Kolkata in collaboration with National Centre for Financial Education on 14th May, 2021 from 2 pm to 5 pm. Dr. Baneswar Kapasi, an Associate Professor of Commerce Department, Kazi Nazrul University was the resource person of this webinar. The target audiences of this programme were students. A total of 70 students from different semesters of the B.Com. Department participated in this programme. The webinar opened with words of inspiration from Dr. Rajyasri Neogy, Principal of Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, who formally delivered the welcome speech. The programme was held in Google Meet platform. The resource person mainly focussed on the different aspects of financial products that are available in the market and he also made the students aware of the different types of risks involved in the financial markets. The students were given training to be more cautious while dealing in financial products and be aware of different terms and conditions involved in such capital markets. He also addressed the queries of the audiences in details with utmost patience. The seminar ended with a vote of thanks from the IQAC co-ordinator, Dr. Sampa Debnath. The college was also provided with a Certificate of Appreciation for conducting such a seminar.
