About the Programme: 

A Students' Webinar involving a Lecture on 'Taxation - An Overview' was organised by the Department of Commerce & Department of Economics in collaboration with IQAC, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Kolkata on 4th July, 2021 from 4 pm to 7 pm. The resource person of this webinar was CA Subhayan Basu, Associate Professor & HOD, Department of Commerce, Ananda Mohan College, Kolkata. The target audiences of this programme were students of B.Com. 5^th Semester. A total of 50 students from different colleges in Kolkata participated in this programme. The webinar opened with words of inspiration from Dr. Rajyasri Neogy, Principal of Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, who formally delivered the welcome speech. The programme was held in Google Meet platform. The resource person mainly focussed on the basic concepts of Taxation i.e., Residential status of an Individual, Income from House Property, Income from Capital Gains, etc. The session was an interactive one in which Prof. Basu patiently answered the questions of the students. The seminar ended with a vote of thanks from the IQAC co-ordinator, Dr. Prasenjit Das and the participants were provided with e-participation certificate for attending the seminar.
